Germany and Natural Gas

Using 2016 numbers, if you view the natural gas situation in Germany....roughly 93-percent of the gas required...has to be imported.

Yes, only 7-percent of the natural gas usage in Germany.....is from in-country assets.

WINGAS has a good graphic of the situation.

29-percent of the gas is imported from the Netherlands.

3-percent of the gas comes from the UK.

Norway sends 21-percent of the natural gas.

Russia is the big producer at 40-percent.

The odds of this changing in the future?  Two factors fall into play:

1.  The pipeline being put up in the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany....would probably increase the amount of natural gas being sold.

2.  There is exploration going on in the Med, and Turkey appears to be close to a major producer-status.  But one should emphasize.....this production line and pipe required....would be a full decade away.
