I read a piece off 'Welt' this morning that went to the topic of Covid-19 and our dynamics of 'state of emergency'....which strongly suggested that this can't become the absolute 'NORM' of society. As the discussion went....you'd just be inviting everyone to become "Rebels".
In simple terms....it's one of those topics that you sit and ponder upon. We've been at emergency status for roughly 10 months.
Most kids in Germany would readily admit that school is a chaotic thing, with learning goals mostly questionable.
Businesses openly discuss the bankruptcy route and how close they are to that problem.
Doctors, ambulance folks and nurses will readily admit they are mostly burned-out.
Most alcoholics will admit it's fairly lonely in their apartment or house drinking there....instead of the local pub.
Most Germans over the age of 70 will tell you that they kinda worry over statistical average of surviving Covid-19.
Most Germans in their 20s and single....grumble about the lack of night-club activity, and zero potential of 'hooking-up'.
Most Germans who strongly participated in fests in the past....fuss over the lack of fests now.
Most Germans who were addicted to railway travel....wonder if regular railway travel will ever return.
2020 was destructive in dozens of ways. There's no doubt that some element of society is now rebelling against the ban-rules and protest the strict nature of living.
If 2021 goes along this same path? I'd suggest the rebel crowd expanding by 20-percent, and serious problems laid out for governmental authorities.
