Focus had a brief story that concerned the building materials and hardware items....that you'd typically go to Obi, Hornbach, etc.....to buy.
So, the logistical logjam is now affecting construction materials. You might walk in and have a list of a dozen things for a renovation job on a house....to find the shelf bare and a waiting list of a few weeks, to a few months.
What this means? The craftsman will waste time going to a second, and possibly even a third store....all added to his costs.
The expectation of private individuals that a electrical renovation job requiring just six weeks to be done in a house? It might be suddenly halted around the first week, and only take place four months in the future.
The serious problem, if you think about it.....emergency heating or plumbing jobs....might suddenly cost one-third or 50-percent more than expected....only because the pieces and parts aren't available in the local hardware stores.
