Over the weekend, Focus hyped up and chatted about the SPD politician found with roughly 200,000 Euro in a safe deposit box.
Rather than make this a 60 line story....I'll keep it simple.
It appears that there's going to be a massive investigation into regional (Hamburg) politics from the past two decades, the way they handed out contracts, and the bribe money angle.
Here's the chief problem....the Chancellor (Scholz) was mayor for several years, and had to know of the various connections or was totally out-of-touch with the city operation.
It may take 12 to 18 months, but I suspect at the end of this investigation....a number of politicians from the area will be in court and defending decisions made. Yeah, it could collapse the government and lead to early elections.
