1. Focus write up a good article over the topic of jobs lost in Germany over 2020 (now reaching 600,000 jobs). The majority of the jobs? Tourism and aviation.
2. What exactly is the Sanofi 'disaster'?
Well....Sanofi is a vaccine company which had a promising vaccine situation in development back in the summer. The EU stood up and tossed a major contract at them, and things were going down the path that they'd be the BIG producer of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Sanofi started phase 1 testing in September, and right around mid-2021....they expect it to be done and ready for production. Course, they were hoping for great results and earlier production.
For the EU, virtually all of their efforts were set to this one company, and it's a pretty sour view of how things went. On the positive side...of all vaccines right now....they appear to be the one company which is putting in a lot of testing. Maybe by the end of 2021....they have resolved a number of things and have public trust.
3. In my local state of Hessen, a new rule is in effect onboard buses/trains. The audit folks now have the power to issue a fine against any rider who fails to wear a mask (50 Euro fine). Previously, they didn't have this power.
