Starting this week, I'll talk a brief bit over France....mostly because I believe they are moving up in the 'free-world'.
France-24 (their public TV in English) had a piece which I felt was interesting. The French government has evaluated things in terms of psychiatry, and bluntly determined that things need to change.
Therapy sessions? Government will bear more of the cost.
But this goes deeper. At some point in the 1980s....the French mental health folks went and adapted to a number of American practices. In the past couple of years, they've reached the stage of 'dumping' on the American style of mental health. In simple terms....the American style didn't leave much for subjectivity in handling people and their issues.
Condemning the drug trade of mental health? Yeah, they've even suggested that there's too much drug usage in handling problems.
What this will lead to? I'd suggest you have to give them a good five to ten years to note success or failure.
