Last night, a slide came up on a German public TV show....to talk about the price of gas currently.
So the example is.....gas costing 1.60 Euro per liter (to be honest, yesterday....I saw a gas price for E10 fuel for 1.75 Euro per liter).
So out of the 1.60 amount....the real product cost is .61 Euro cents. The sales tax is .255 cents. The fuel tax is .655 cents. And the C02 tax is .077 cents.
Yet all of this money goes into the same government pocket? Yeah.....the same pocket.
For the record, most consumer outlets are talking about regular unleaded reaching 2-Euro per liter (3.78 liters make a gallon) by spring of 2022, so a gallon of fuel at that point will cost 7.56 Euro or roughly $9.02 (US dollars).
