New Russian Conscript Gimmick?

The Putin folks have arranged a new entry level.....up to age forty-nine, you can sign up and be a conscript....with a pay-bonus deal in the mix.

The chief lure?  I saw this on N-TV this AM and believe most of the story.  The offering is 2,000 Euro as a signing bonus (day one) and 600 Euro a month for the duration of your commitment.  Why this interests Russian guys?  A typical Russian non-technician is making around 600 Euro a month.

Training?  No one talks about this side of the story.  I doubt if you get more than two weeks of boot-camp, and then a bus-ride into the front.

As for physical fitness of these folks?  Don't go expecting much....if the guy is thirty or older.  Bringing in alcoholics?  More than likely.

The chatter that the Russians have 300,000 ground-troops around the front?  I call it mostly BS, and suggest it might actually be around 200,000 instead.

The problem with the older conscript gimmick?  You are basically removing them from regular jobs and if they don't survive the war (highly likely).....then you end up with economic landscape where truck-drivers, shelf-stockers, and agricultural workers don't exist in abundance.

The idea that half of these older conscripts never return from the war?  This ought to be on the minds of the economical 'bosses'.  I would be suggesting that five out of ten of these older guys won't be around in a hundred days....either killed-in-action or wounded.
