What's With This Ayleen-Murder Case In Germany?

I'll try to tell this story in the simplest way possible.

This German teenage girl (14 years old) was a 'gamer'.  She got into talks with this guy (he was a gamer as well).

The girl up and disappears from her home in the SW region of Germany.  Around ten days pass, and her body is found around 300 km away from home....up in the Hessen central region...in a lake.

So the case opens up and it leads to this 29-year old German guy.  Oddly enough, around age 14, he was arrested and held for a period of ten years (for rape/assault on a 11-year-old girl).

Around 2017, he was released....being considered a non-threat, but held under careful review by the police.  That period ended early in 2022, when the 'watch-period' ended.

There's going to be a lot of questions over who signed the paperwork in 2017 to release him, and why the 'watch-period' by the police ended in January of 2022.

His outcome?  Probably to be held for the remainder of his life.  But there's likely to be a review and suggested changes to the law, and this 'watch-period' will be extended for life for others who fall into this category.
