German Electrical Cost Going Up?

Big time.  I noticed from this AM.....some chatter going on about the European Energy Exchange AG.  Apparently, German electrical power for next year has advanced 5.4% (meaning you'd pay 405 Euro per megawatt-hour (figure about $410 US).

Info?  From the Watchers site.

How does this compare against 2020?  Well.....41.10 Euro per megawatt-hour was the price then....so it's forecasted 1,000-percent above the 2020 going rate.

About a month ago.....Bloomberg was talking about 345 Euro.....so it's risen 50 Euro in just a single month.

Where this leads to in the spring of 2023?  I would suggest three things:

1.  Anyone that went and used electrical heat to make up for the limits on natural gas heating....is screwed.  I'd strongly advise to only marginally use alternate devices in the home.

2.  The idea of getting an E-Car?  By summer of 2023, unless the government really invents a different path....E-car demand is going to drop like a rock.

3.  There has to be major changes in the way that politicians deal with electrical situations, and the grid.  The cost-factor will be a huge dynamic over the next twelve months.  Just saying climate change and 'clean' energy.....won't work in this type of atmosphere.

I'll say this for 2023....it's going to be a hectic and upsetting year for some.  I might be burning some candles, and using that washer just twice a month.
