It was an act (2014 created) to bring about a extra tax on electrical power.....to fund 'clean' energy projects.
What does it amount to? Well...the general number thrown around (2022) is 300 Euro a year per family/household (more or less).
It came up today because the Finance Minister has said 'enough'.....it needs to go and give people a bit of their money back.
Happening in 2022? Wishful thinking I believe, but it probably will be gone by early 2023.
Naturally, you will ask....how will 'clean' energy projects get financed in the future? Well....somewhere down the line, I would imagine another tax of some sort gets created.
