Q-and-A: 12 Apr 2022

 1.  German Minister of Family Affairs (Spiegel, Green Party) resigned?

Yes....with roughly 100 days in the job.  What created the downfall?  Basically, it goes back to the previous job and the big flood in the Ahr Valley in the summer of 2021.  She started a vacation....the flood occurred, and she didn't 'show-up' for several days.

My general advice to any politician....when some emergency occurs in your region/state....even though your appearance is worthless....you need to show up every other day for photo opportunities and just pretend your appearance matters.  Shake hands.....share the 'woes'....offer sympathy....and just say you will pray for people.  It's cheap stuff but people like this.

2.  Is there a problem in replacing Spiegel as the Minister of Family Affairs?

Well....yeah.  It has to be a Green Party female,  who is not extreme far-left on matters.  Based on a N-TV piece....I'd say it's not going to be a nationally known individual and probably will be some lady from the party who is mostly unknown.

3.  Are bonfires a popular thing around Easter in Germany?

Yes, and lately.....more hype has come up from environmentalists who believe this is a practice which should be forbidden.

4.  Any truth to this story of Biontech having 3-million doses of the Covid vaccination and about to 'dump' them?

Well....expiration dates exist, and there's three million in cold storage which have to be used or disposed of.

5.  Unseasonably warm weather now?

There's some odd front that has come up from Africa....disposing of a fair amount of dust.  For the next day or two.....you will observe an orange tint in the air.  Temperature-wise for central Germany?  It's supposed to get up to 24 C (75 F).
