What a Russian Pays For Food?

This came up on N-TV today, and there's a UN group which monitors food costs around the world.  So in the last month....food escalated in Russian supermarkets.

Current figure?  Forty-percent of your normal salary for a Russian....is spent now on food.

Creating more chaos within Russia?  The government could go back to Soviet Union practices, and just hand out a bag of sugar, coffee and flour once a month....free of charge, and absorb this cost (by printing more Rubles of course).
