Focus wrote up an excellent piece to describe the mess now.
With the sudden departure (forced), the Greens have to replace the empty seat.
They have two known people who could fill the seat....Anton Hofreiter and Kathrin Göring-Eckardt.
So Anton can't fill the seat because he's a guy, and the Greens are this even-even male-female positioning policy. Well, Göring-Eckardt should fit....right? No.....she is considered too far left extreme.
This no-name person they bring up? Katharina Dröge? Mid-30s, and mostly a economics expert. If you ranked her in the top one-hundred of the Green Party? She's been around for a decade, and politically....she's probably ranked somewhere between thirty and fifty (on the scale). She's one of those people I'd say would be a top-ten political figure as you get into the 2030 to 2040 era. The way that journalists write her fitting into this mess.....doesn't seem like she wants the job, or she's waiting for a better 'fit'.
