The EU did something brilliant yesterday.....they mandated one single USB size (C) for all electronic charging equipment....by fall of 2024. If you sell any new electronic item....it can only be charged by the c-size.
I sat in an office around 2008, and several of us (five in the room) voiced this discussion about the number of electronic items we had.....which required a USB cable.....and there were varying sizes (A, B and C). We all grumbled about the necessity of inventing multiple sizes.
So I will say this....occasionally the EU does go out and make some great changes and improve things (on a rare basis).....but this is one they could have done already by 2012 (a decade ago).
