Germany and Covid-19: 20 Nov 2020

1.  Interesting piece (short) from N-TV this morning in Germany.   Length of immunity after getting Covid-19 is often discussed.  Two studies (China and UK) suggest your immunity is short-lived (a few months at best).

This study talked about though....is out of a US college.  The suggestion is that immunity in some fashion will exist up to eight months (after you suffer a bout with Covid-19).

2.  The Biontec folks (heading up the vaccine in Germany)....appear ready to deliver the vaccine to the government in December.  The CEO is not saying early December (just ten days away).

He also comments that he expects all of Germany to be vaccinated by the fall of 2021.

My humble guess is that delivery will start up around Christmas week.

3.  Newly infected in past 24 hours across Germany?  21,483 (still on a high trend line, but slightly less than a week ago).  New deaths in past 24 hours?  228, from across Germany (population of 83-million).  Total deaths since day one: 13,459.
