Germany and Covid-19: 13 Nov 2020

 1.  In my local town (Wiesbaden), they updated the death by Corona numbers last night.  Three new deaths....bringing the number since day one to 38 total.  No details on the age or added issues in their health.

2.  3,186 Germans are currently in ICU bed units....half of them approximately are ventilated.  Remember, the population of the country is 83-million.

3.  There's supposed to be a protest in Frankfurt on Saturday with the anti-ban-rule folks....authorities estimate around 2,000 will attend.  Chief of police says that if people are in mandatory mask areas....they will be cited or detained by the police.

4.  There's a new record for new infections via all of Germany....set last night over the past 24 hours, now up to 23,542.

5.  State of Bavaria put up a new ban rule....all indoor sports, at all levels....can suspended.

6.  The government has been reviewing the temporary cut in the VAT (the sales tax which is typically 19-percent, but lowered since Corona started to 16-percent).  By their estimates, there is minimal evidence that it increased sales.  The odds in 2021 of it going back to 19-percent?  Very high.
