Stuttgart Court Cases

Back in the summer, I talked and essayed about the riots in Stuttgart that occurred.  A number of young guys were arrested and charged up.  So, today, their cases have started to hit the court system.  SWR (regional public TV) did a review.

1st guy: charges of smashing police car windows.  Cost of repair?  3,000 Euro.  'Serious breach of peace' is the charge for the 18-year old kid.  This will be juvenile court, based on the age.

2nd guy: similar situation....damages to the police vehicle, and another 'Serious breach of peace' charge.

Section 125 of the federal code?  It's a pretty simple definition...once you destroy public property or incite a riot, if convicted....it could go up to 3 years in prison, with a fine.

My humble guess here....if both are 'juveniles'....it'll probably go to a one-year sentence with some fine to cover the cost of the vehicle damage.  With good behavior, they'd be out in six to eight months.

Course, maybe they can claim they were under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and the judge might clear everything except the vehicle damage.

More cases to come?  SWR suggests that.  One odd thing about this list of suspects...of the 100 folks on the list, 83 are immigrant guys.  Authorities aren't saying they are all juvenile (they avoid that topic entirely).
