Political Chatter

There was a very short piece via N-TV news this morning (commercial German news)....which conveyed the thoughts of Bavarian Premier-President Soder of the German state of Bavaria.

He's reaching the level where he wants 'lateral-thinkers' (the anti-Covid-19-ban people) to be watched by the German FBI-like device....meaning judges signing off on a wide assortment of folks who are not agreeable to the Covid-19 ban rules.

He actually used the term 'sect-like' in describing their behavior and actions.

Through the comments....he is basically suggesting they are a threat to the safety and security of the German state, and the public.

The odds that 'protection of the Constitution' 'watching' starts to occur?  It's hard to say.  It would open a door where the crowd felt more of a threat by the state and might go even further against the government.  Considering the number of state elections and the federal election itself in 2021....this would be a bold step and invite more discontent in a serious election year.

I think last weeks demonstration and riot in Leipzig....probably has taken a number of German government officials by surprise (it was around 20k protesters).  There are several smaller scale demonstrations schedule for this Saturday.

I wouldn't rate this as a top ten issue, but just to suggest that a large scale group might be 'watched'....would generate a lot of internet chat and negative feelings about the current government.
