Is There A German Fear of Interior Civil Conflict Brewing?

In recent weeks.....brief situations have occurred in Germany where either Russian-ethnic folks or Ukrainian-ethnic folks have been targeted.  N-TV (German commercial TV brought up this stuff here in the AM today).

It's reached a level where the Minister of the Interior (Faeser) has made some blunt comments.  Quantity so far?  The federal police count up to around 380-odd anti-Russian events, and near 180-odd anti-Ukrainian events.  Some of these are just insults made on the street, and reported to the local police.  Some involve assault....some involve damage to property.

Where this is leading to?  Well....we are at week five of this 'war' and it's obvious it'll go on for months....if not years.

So yeah, there is some German fear over society breaking down, and daily threats being a part of the German landscape.

If you asked me the general gut-feeling of plain regular ethnic-Germans?  I'd say eighty percent are neutral or just lean a bit to be pro-Ukraine.  There might be five-percent of society that is extremely pro-Ukraine and willing to take anti-Russia actions on the street.  There's probably another three percent who are pro-Russia and would take anti-Ukraine actions on the street.  The rest?  Unattached to the news and mostly worried if BVB Dortmund can move ahead of Bayern.

What you don't want in some highly urbanized zone (like Berlin) is some street warfare mess starting up.

I should note here....since the 1990s....there's approximately 3.5-million ethnic Russians in Germany.  The vast majority (my humble take) aren't exactly big supporters of Putin, the Kremlin, or the marginalized lifestyle/economics of Russia.  They sought Germany, and have enriched lives here.  Any idiot hoping to get pro-Putin feelings out of this group....might be miscalculating.
