So it came up today....several German states are suggesting that the Silvester celebration (31 December), which would normally involve the firing off of fireworks across Germany....be halted (by some federal intervention).....to prevent Covid infection.
In general, the talk is that celebrating on the 31st would be cancelled. No crowds....no drinking....no partying.....no fireworks.
Public acceptance of this? Well....it'd be a federal order and the police would enforce it. I'd take a guess.....Germans between 15 and 30 would be split 50-50 on obeying this. Taking fireworks out of the markets? That probably easily done by a fed order.
This type order working again on 31 December 2022? I doubt it.
