Court Story

In the last quarter of 2021, I essayed a number of updates over the autobahn 49 'extension' (the approved completion).....an area about 45 minutes north of Frankfurt, the Dannenroder Forest region.

The extension (planned for years) would go through a forest area that environmentalists felt needing 'protection'.....so they set up delays and created a massive problem for the police to handle.

Arrests were made, and one of the more difficult individuals (a young lady)....finally went to court in the past week or two.  Chief charges?  Dangerous bodily harm, and refusing to provide an ID (upon request by the police).

So the judge rendered judgement....guilty.

She's been held in jail for around 16 months (at this point)....mostly over the refusal to ID situation.  The judge rendered the rest of the sentence....five months on top of the 16 months.

The thing that gets me over the whole escalation....almost 31-million Euro had to be spent by the government....with police/security cost....to handle the forest cut of roughly 250 acres.  It's a tremendous amount of tax revenue, man-hours by the police, and demonstration time.  In the end, the autobahn extension will be built.
