In the past 24 hours, I noticed that the Defense Minister of Russia stood up and made a pretty long 'whining' that NATO military forces have sized up in a dramatic fashion on the western flank of Russia.
From the translation....he obviously felt this was 'unfair' and just not right.
The problem here....a fair of European folks 'woke-up' from their thirty year nap (after the Cold War business) and came to realize that any time that Russia utters a 'Nazi' threat exists.....they set loose Russian forces to put down the Nazis.
Yes, in a matter of minutes....Putin could suggest that a Nazi threat exists in Poland, Germany or France. Then you'd have this big 'herd' of invaders on some crusade to save the Russian heartland.
I suspect that Shoigu (the Defense Minister) has done the analysis himself and realizes that on a really good day.....against NATO....he might only loose 3,000 men to deaths or wounds. A 30-day war against NATO? You'd have to resort to nukes by the 10th day because of the Russian losses and surrenders.
