For those who aren't aware.....there's a 'war' going on between several grocery chains and several merchandise chains (makers of candy, soda, etc).
The 'war' is mostly about the makers of products saying 'enough', and moving their pricing up....with the grocery saying 'no, you shouldn't do that'.
It's reached a point where orders aren't being filled and some shelves are empty.
So here I was.....passing the candy department, and every single Mars product (including M and M's)....was gone....empty area.
Taped on the shelf....a letter to the customers trying to detail the 'war' and how sorry they were for the empty shelf.
I anticipate in three months...probably a hundred items in the store affected by this idea of controlling the escalation of prices, and more shelves being empty.
I do agree....the grocery chains are trying to be 'noble', but there is some point where you lose sight of reality.
