Four basic facts, and then a lot of speculation:
1. Attack started in the heart of Vienna...mid-town area.
2. Number of attacks? Six sites where shots were fired.
3. Number of attackers? At least one (dead) but based on the sites and witness statements....there's probably a second guy (minimum).
4. Three dead, and 15 wounded.
Acknowledging who was behind this? At this point, police are careful how they say it, but it appears to be motivated radical Muslims.
City safe now (12 hours later)? No, not exactly. Police are suggesting you avoid public areas of the city....which means they think members of this group still exist.
Best info reporting so far? ARD (public TV from Germany, Channel One). ORF in Austria carrying live interviews with the mayor and police.
UPDATED: ARD reports that guy in question had posed for pictures with a automatic rifle, pistol, and machete....before the attack started. Guy is confirmed to be a ISIS supporter. Some folks have been arrested in the past couple of hours with no hint of the charges or support. 7 of the 15 folks wounded....are in serious condition.
UPDATED: Shooter was Albanian Muslim guy, who'd been on a list of people who wanted to exit or leave to participate in the Syrian ISIS-war. 20 years old.
