It's a rather complicated story, but I'll try to explain this.
Back in the mid-1980s...there was a lot of competition on the drug-trade in Hamburg (this was before the wall came down, and this drug-empire was mostly German-run).
So, some murders were arranged on competitors.
Normally, if the cops figured this out and the prosecution did it's job correctly.....you would go off for a fairly long bit of time....even if you were just on the planning stage of a sanctioned murder.
So, there's this Austrian guy (Mr X), in his 30s.....who comes up in an investigation. He's a pimp and into the drug-empire business. He's arrested and goes to a court situation. Charge? Inciting and planning a murder.
Judge? Well....conviction is done, and the guy is given in 1989.....life in prison.
So a funny thing happens. About a year after the conviction....this guy's name comes up on a deportation deal....to send him to Austria (free).
Yeah, you could ask a lot of questions, but it's likely that some 'deal' was made....maybe some cash flowed to someone or a political party....but the Germans released this guy from life in prison....to go back to Austria permanently, but he had to promise never to step foot on German soil again.
In simple terms.....the deal of a lifetime.
He goes to Austria.
Yesterday, on a flight from the Dominican Republic landed in Frankfurt, and this one guy had to change planes for a Vienna flight.
Yeah, this 71-year-old guy.....had violated the 'deal'. Frankfurt cops detained him, and he's going back to prison (in Germany).
Hamburg waiting on this guy? More or less. Do they really want the guy back? I would question that part....obviously, there was some reason to let him go in 1990.
How stupid was the guy? Most people.....if you tried them and some court said just never return to the country.....they would have 'wised-up' and avoided Germany.
