This was brought via N-TV news this morning.
Germany has a major problem with purchasing natural gas currently (nearly 50-percent of all requirements....come from Russia). So there's idea of the two Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) terminals to be built.
If you ask the experts.....the plan will take about 2.5 years....which means they are in the hands of the Russians at this point.
However, it's now been pointed out that floating terminals already exist (France is already working on procuring one, and worldwide....there are around 48 of these).
The general chatter? There is some optimism that at least one will be up and running in Germany by winter of this year.....meaning a LNG tanker (probably from the US or Qatar) would be able to come up and dump their load, and lessen the dependence on the Russians.
How much? Unknown.
If you asked how many of these floating terminals will exist in Germany by summer of 2023? I would be willing to bet more than two.....while the port terminals are still being built.
An enormous 'target'? Well....yeah, that's my general take on these floating terminals and it only takes one pro-Russia guy to cause a big mess.
