Four German News Stories

 1.  Someone did a analytical study of what 5 Deutsche Marks could buy, and came to a realization that most of the items on the market (in a 21 year period since the Mark was dropped)....now costs around 5 Euro.  Doesn't matter if you talk about a Brat, a railway ticket, or a bakery item.

2.  Legal case brewing in Mannheim over denial of oxygen to a hospital patient.  Basic story: Covid ward of a hospital had two patients in the room.  Patient A was (age 79) bad-off and had a machine providing oxygen....which the system was making 'some' noise.  Patient B (age 73) felt the noise was too loud,  and cut the system off.  Patient A was found before anything got serious.

Relatives of Patient A are pushing the district prosecutor to put attempted manslaughter charges up against Patient B.

If the case goes to the court?  Well...under German law, if convicted....it's between five and fifteen years in prison.

3.  One odd factor in this Netflix 'Harry and Meghan' show....which the German press openly discussed....the background where they do their chatter.....which appears to be a luxurious home.....isn't their own personal home.  Yeah, they borrowed, or rented someone else's house.

Just odd....if you ask me.

4.  German N-TV news says there was a 2-for-2 prisoner deal worked up....concerning that American black lesbian basketball player and the Russian arms merchant.

The US Marine held in a Russian jail was in the bigger deal.....with this Berlin Tiergarten killer held in a German jail.  It would appear that the Germans could not find anything for them to get....out of the deal.
