Well....it's a non-traditional TV network out of Austria. First, it does not operate over the air, or via cabel, or via satellite. It's more or less....a streaming video TV network.
You can get it via YouTube, Telegram, or via their web-site.
Their slogan? Something to the effect....a alternate source.
Right-wing? I'd go and suggest that it's attached to some pro-Russia or pro-Putin slant of views....not necessarily right-wing.
So, they are in a bit of trouble. Austria 'media-control' (the state folks) have started up paperwork to shut them down. The chief 'trigger' here? The media-control folks say it's a legit station and thus needs authority or permission of media-control to exist.
Problems to this idea? You can't get the misinformation channel via cable, satellite or some antenna. It's all streaming video-based. It'd be like media-control saying they have authority over some 12-year old Austrian kid running a one-hour news story each day....from his dad's garage....via YouTube.
In the end....they will be shutdown for some period of time, and some legal challenge will be centered on the high court of Austria. The court will focus on traditional delivery of digital content and how the media-control folks were designed. My guess is that the Austrian legal folks will be told to add some comments to the national constitution....to fit non-traditional video-streaming into this situation.
Could AUF1 just pack up and leave Austria, and keep video-streaming? Yeah....via a VPN process. I could take several guesses on the next location, but I suspect it'd likely be Serbia.
So all of this theatrical stuff going on....is there really any big audience watching their BS-propaganda? Well....no one talks much over numbers....that's the funny thing about this story.
Via Telegram....it's suggested that 230,000 subscribers exist. True or false? That's another problem......you might discover that a quarter of this group is just Bot-action.
The best quote that I can find over this discussion....comes from Andreas Peham, who is a researcher with the Documentation Archive of Austrian Resistance (DÖW).

Yeah....pretty much true. It's always been this way through mankind's history....people only get excited about things....when a crisis is unfolding, even if it is a bogus crisis.
