First, Russians kinda report two explosions. One at the Saratov Airfield (about 300 miles east of the Ukraine border....deep into the heart of Russia. This is mostly a base where TU-95 Bears (bombers) are stationed. Part of the Saratov report indicates a couple people dead, and probably two aircraft damaged (on the ramp). In the minutes after the explosion.....the initial report says 14 of the Bears took off.
It sounds like they had a early AM exercise, and some screw-up occurred, and the commander carried on the rest of the take-off with the remaining bombers.
The second explosion? Well....over at Moscow's Ryazan area. This was some kind of fuel truck on the ramp that exploded. Three dead in that episode.
Second odd story appearing....down in Baden-Wurttemberg area....two young girls (age 13/14) were attacked out in front of the school by some guy with a knife. Girls wounded....guy chased to his apartment, and arrested by local cops.
Whole story seems to be framed that the guy might not be mentally normal.
