Observations

 1.  If you have seen the 2022 version of 'All Quiet On The Western Front'.....I strongly recommend it.

Watched it off Netflix last night....very accurate portrayal of WW I, and if you lack any knowledge of the era....good basis of German history.  Note: it does run almost 2.5 hours, and the battle scenes are 'epic'.

2.  There's a Focus piece this AM which talks about a serious Russia-Ukraine war factor....the cold.  Russian soldiers are dug in, and sitting in trenches.....with no warm weather gear (for the most part), and the expectation is that the winter weather will kill just as many Russians as the Ukrainians would have.

3.  At various German ski resorts....there's a ban on 'snow-making'....so there's a fear that resort profits will be dismal.  This all leads back to the energy business, and fear over blackouts.

4.  Migrants, asylum-seekers, and immigration for Germany in 2022?  WELT had a piece this AM and says it'll total near 1.2-million people. Course, the bulk are Ukrainians.  Amount of complaints compared to 2014/2015?  A LOT less.  The biggest issue that pops up....limited space now left in the country for any new migrants.

5.  Is there a lot of criticism going on over the German soccer team leaves after the first three games from the World Cup?  OH YEAH.

Via the public TV networks....ARD and ZDF.....just a ton of sports analysis, and it's to a level that if it pops up.....you just immediately want to change the channel or mute the chatter.

6.  Lot of Scarlet Fever showing up in the UK.

7.  Via public TV's ARD.....there's a late night show called 'Chez Krömer', which features Kurt Krömer.

Krömer, I would describe as a sarcastic and blunt guy, who is fairly clever and intellectual..

This week's show....he did a sit-down chat with comedian Faisal Kawusi.  Kawusi....I would describe as a German with a Afghan heritage....funny occasion (I wouldn't put him the top ten German comedians, but I would rank him somewhere between number twenty and number forty).

Kawusi has been in 'trouble' recently with a comedy bit about knock-out drops and women.

For this sit-down....I think Krömer was giving Kawusi to say his regrets and clean up the mess started with the knock-out drop business.  This turned into a utter failure, and at the half-way point of the show (typically an hour)....Krömer halted the show....saying this guest was uttering BS, and ended it right there.

Yeah....a bit shocking for a TV show.
