1. I sat this morning reading through a RBB (public TV of Berlin) item....on wolves.
For those who missed it.....the President of the EU (von der Leyen) has a home in Germany where her family resides. At some point earlier in the year.....a wolf pack came up to the rural residence, and attacked (killed) the family pony.
In simple terms, if you don't know much about wolves....they generally are selective on what they kill, usually aiming for sheep or smaller sized animals. Attacks on horses or ponies....are just awful rare.
So, RBB has gone and asked a wolf expert on this....asking if more aggressive hunting would render this a non-problem, and the expert said no....hunts don't really change the outcome.
There are two sides of hunting....one is where you have a certain number per year that you can achieve, and one where you go to eradicate numbers down to very low numbers. Yeah....the second one is awful harsh....but it's the one that generally resolves any 'problem-wolf-packs'.
At some point, I expect some German kid to be 'grabbed' by a wolf and dragged off into a wooded area. After that....the eradication type hunts will be authorized, and everyone will admit that allowing wolves back into Germany was not a positive idea.
2. Flu numbers upsetting public transportation in Germany?
Most all urban areas in Germany are reporting significant cuts in public transportation because crews are out on sick-leave.
3. The state of Bavaria has put into effect a total ban on any protests on public roads....so if the 'Last Generation' activists do anything between now and 8 January....it would appear that arrest and long-term detention will occur (no release until a court date).
I would suggest that the action will do little to lessen the protest actions, but it will leave a number of folks in a jail situation longer than they expected.
