This is a complicated story that I saw off N-TV and I'll try to lay out the basic story.
So out of the Frankfurt airport....on Saturday, this Lufthansa plane was scheduled to take off....to Mexico (Cancun, the vacation resort on the Caribbean side).
Four guys were on the plane....all from India.
The four Indians were all typing away on their smartphones prior to take-off. For some reason (unexplained).....some guy was nosey over what they were typing, and got a screen image....then attempted to translate this from Indian....into French.
Whatever the original meaning of the four Indians messaging....apparently, this didn't translate well into French. What the French guy got...was something to mean 'suicidal intentions'.
Now, there are a lot of language translators out there, and I would imagine that you could say a few things that just don't translate well into French or Finnish or Russian.
The French guy got all hyped up....warned the stewardess, and things kinda halted (no take-off).
Curiously, the four Indians only brought what you'd consider a jogging bag each.
So the federal cops came on the plane and brought the four off.
What transpired? Well...nothing of a evil intent, just a misunderstanding with the email translation business. But then this odd thing came up. Fake papers, and the full intention of the four to reach Cancun on a vacation situation, and make their way to the US border....crossing illegally. So for that problem, the four got sent for deportation.....back to India.
So you have to be a bit amused about the poor translation. If the French guy hadn't gotten nosey....the four would have been in Cancun....spent a night in a nice hotel, and then go 1,500 miles (probably 3 to 5 days) to the US border along Texas/Mexico. Two days after that....they would have arrived in Daytona Beach and 'hooked-up'.
But here's the thing....how many Indian guys do this daily and fly for a vacation visa to Cancun.....to cross over into the US? A dozen a week? A hundred a week? A thousand a week?
