Germany and Covid-19: 10 August 2021

The joint meeting of the state authorities and federal folks occurred today.  N-TV had a great update. You can say a couple of things from the talks:

1.  The free Covid-19 tests end on 11 October....after that, you (the private citizen) pay for the test.

2.  If you are a non-vax person, and want to go to a soccer game, indoor event, indoor pub/bar/restaurant, hair dresser, etc....after 11 October, you will pay for the test and it'll be mandated (if the rate of infection is 35 or more in your state).

3.  If you are vaccinated, and return from a high-risk area of Covid....you will not have to perform any quarantine situation.  My humble belief is that this will change again by the end of 2021.

4.  The state and federal folks PROMISED that NO further lock downs or shut downs will occur.  My humble opinion is that this will also get changed by the time we get to Christmas.

5.  Vaccination rates presently?  First shot?  62.5 percent.  Second shot?  55.1 percent.  Will they reach 65 to 70 percent?  The trend line has really dropped in the past four weeks.  I would go and suggest that the max number by the mid-September point will be around 68-to-70 percent.

6.  The government 'new' goal now?  Well....it's now reached 70 to 80 percent.  The odds of this being achieved?  Anyone's best guess.

Last meeting before the election?  Yes.  Next meeting?  I would take a guess about four weeks after the election (26 Sep).
