Poster Chatter

In the last hour, I flipped over to N-TV (German commercial news) and got this 'shocker'.

So, the Economics Minister (Pete Altmaier, CDU) did a Q and A episode and he says that he's up to sugesting a new Covid campaign, with themes/messages....similar in nature to what you'd find on cigarette packs at the grocery store.  You know....the big color picture with a guy's lung all dissolving away and how you ought to just give up smoking.

His intention?  He says there needs to be a "cruel reality" to Covid....to "accelerate" the vaccination business.

First, would Germans even react to such a poster?  I'm not that sure.  A fair number of Germans have become skeptical of the hype, and it might not go over well.

Second, where would you put these posters?  Bus stops?  Train stations?  Entry of grocery stores?

Third, who would pay for the poster campaign?  Well....you the tax payer.

Fourth, you could easily end up with a anti-vaccination campaign then mounted where some crazy Germans make up a fake poster and suggest your 'Johnson' might fall off after three vaccinations, or that some fake research suggests you lose 8-percent of your intelligence upon the completion of vaccinations.

Fifth, you start get getting closer and closer to the theme of the book '1984' and things seeming like Nazi-propaganda out of the 1932 era.  That's not the suggestion you want to throw at the general public.

Would the Bundestag buy off on this, or the sixteen states allow this type of poster campaign?  I have my doubts on this.  Several states would be blunt and tell the federal guys this whole poster discussion has gone too far.
