German news (various sites) laid out this weird story, and I'll just tell the basic story.
Up in Lower Saxony, there was this vaccination center. This nurse worked there and provided Covid shots.
The nurse was....well....an anti-vax enthusiast. She decided that giving the vaccination was not correct.
So what the authorities now say....is that she gave saline, NOT Covid vaccine, to around 8,557 individuals.
Originally, when they first figured this out....they were thinking it was just a couple hundred folks. So it would appear that she got chatty, and openly admitted her number. Trusting the 8,557 number? Well....unless there two or three of these people, I just have trouble believing this part of the story.
What happens now? They will round up the names of the 8,557 Germans, and identify them....sending them some kind of letter. They will get invited back for a real vaccination.
So what happened to the 8,557 folks in the mean time? Did they get Covid? Did a dozen pass away from the virus? Did some of them rush off to complain of heart inflammation from the saline solution? Well....you don't know.
If you ask me....there's a great investigative journalism moment here, and you might find some curious things out on the 8,557 folks. The bigger question? Will they all return to the the real dose?
So to end this essay.....you have to ponder upon this....was this woman the only one accomplishing this? Could there have been other anti-vaxx people working in the vaccination centers? It's best not to suggest this to your German associates.
