RBB (the Berlin public TV network) talked today over demonstrations anticipated for next week by the youth climate activist crowd.
So the way it's described....this one group, 'Extinction Rebellion' intends to have general demonstrations, halt traffic around the city, and in their own words....accomplish some minor violations of law...to make their point.
The police? They say there are only two 'parades' or demonstrations registered at this point....anything beyond that....they would be illegal.
The negative? I would suggest that some Berlin residents are going to have a fairly negative view of the traffic tie-up and any damage done to public facilities. This coming weeks ahead of the national election? You might lead some voters to view other political options other than the Green Party.
It might be a week to avoid Berlin, unless you live there.
