I sat here in the early AM, watching N-TV (German commercial news).
The chief topic of interest? Well...the RKI folks (Robert Koch Institute), who are the government's 'partner' in monitoring Covid...came out and said that EVEN if you have mild symptoms....you should go and get tested.
Throughout the early stage of Covid arriving in Germany....the general direction of doctors when you called to ask for a test....do you have symptoms X, Y and Z? If you didn't have those particular symptoms....you didn't get to the clinic appointment system.
So it is curious that this recommendation came up. It's also curious....that the government free-test deal ends on 11 October. If testing was that important, you'd think that the free-test deal would just continue on.
The test at the local grocery for the self-test kit? The last time I saw the basket (at the front of the store), the kits were priced at 2.99 Euro (way down from the 12 Euro range of a year ago).
