Well....the story is getting passed around today.
There are certain liabilities and it appears on the rumor-mill that nothing profitable can come out of the pipe for the foreseeable future.
Paperwork drill? I think that's the most you can say.....at least with the Swiss authorities.
Will confirmation occur shortly? The rumor says something will be presented to a Swiss court by the end of the week.
How much was spent on Nord Stream II? 11-billion US dollars.
What'll happen if the bankruptcy goes to the next step? Typically....the court would appoint a 'handler' and they try to market/sell the operation.
Value at this point? At this point, anyone's guess. It'll be a lot less than 11-billion, and maybe even less than 5-billion. Would I bid on this myself? Zero chance.
Scaring the crap out of the Germans? It'll be openly discussed and fussed-over, but I doubt that it bothers the Germans at this point.
Now, I will say this....if you were willing to wait out things (like Putin passing on and some likeable guy replacing him).....things would change, and this pipe would open up. But this might be more than five years away.
China stepping in and buying it? Ha.....but I'd give this radical idea a 25-percent chance of happening.
