The War: 5 Mar 2022 (PM)

 1.  The US State Department has told Americans in Russia to depart.  They can't recommend safety at this point.  How many Americans in Russia?  Unknown.

2.  ARD/ZDF (public TV in Germany) have told their reporters to depart Russia.  Too much risk of arrests.

3.  Finland and Sweden...non-members of NATO are discussing joint military matters.

4.  S&P dumping the Belarus credit situation?  Just above bankruptcy status.

5.  Several thousand Russians have fled Russia via a railway link to Finland over the past couple of days.  Not a lot reasons given, and the Finns are not openly discussing the matter.

6.  There's a Russian diplomatic flight given permission to come to the US....appears more likely that they are picking up staff members in US, and returning them to Moscow.

7.  In a speech today, Putin said sanctions are a declaration of war.

8.  As of Tuesday.....all Aeroflot flights are halted internationally.  If you aren't aboard flights prior to that....you are stuck.
