I essayed a piece two weeks ago about a wedding event over in Mainz....at a rented hall, with about a hundred Wiesbaden guests, and serious Covid-19 issues after the party.
Well....the Mayor of Mainz came out this morning and kinda hints strongly.....that fines will be forthcoming.
The hall-owner? The Pfalz fine list for his situation....goes up to 4,000 Euro. Some court authority would determine just how far to the 4k Euro it goes.
For the hundred guests? There is a fine if you violate the 1.5-meter social distance business....100 Euro per person. Hard to say if this would be dragged into the situation (unless you had witnesses or video).
The other fine is a social group situation, with poor hygiene practice. On that, it's up to 1k Euro per person.
The Mayor is avoiding discussion over the amount. My humble guess, in the end....they might slip this down to 50 Euro a person, to make an example of people involved, and the hall-owner might luck out....only to pay 500 Euro for his problem.
I should note here....back in early July in Kaiserslautern....an American woman from the base held a party in the downtown area, and a serious number (300 folks) of people showed up. That also violated a number of Covid-19 rules, and the Mayor there was talking of a potential 25k fine for the American gal who organized this. Over the past two months, they'd avoided a public discussion over the fine amount.
