Well....the Germans are applying a visa deal where you enter and with a minor amount of paperwork, you (as a Ukrainian) would get a two-year visa to work/live in Germany.
The EU appears to be moving the same direction.
Expectations that this will go on throughout all of 2022? I'd say at this point, virtually all of the experts agree on that.
On numbers? Presently the number thrown around is one million refugees. I expect it to double to two-million by the middle of next week.
The Germans worked up a free railway deal.....if you just show your passport (being a Ukrainian), you get free rail travel into Germany.
Locally? In my local town, another rule was added....free bus-travel if you show the Ukrainian passport/ID.
I'd say for the foreseeable future (to the end of 2023)....the 'war' in some form will continue, and Ukrainian refugees will be a major part of German society. For Putin, it's a long-term drama that doesn't help his case.
