The German federal statistics folks stood up in the past day and announced: beer sales is up by 3.8-percent (157 million liters) over the first half of 2022....compared to the first half of 2021.
Positive thing? Absolutely.
Altogether, with just German beer in the mix? About 4.3 billion liters of beer for first half of 2022.
I should note....this doesn't include the non-alcohol beers, the malt-type beverages or beer from beyond the border.
A lot of this has to do with regional fests which have doubled-up over 2022.
Drinking in general? Germans will say that the cocktail trend is up....the non-booze drinks (the fake dry gin stuff) is up....and wine consumption is up.
A good part of this is simply socializing has taken off to where it was in 2019....before Covid.
