A story popped-up via N-TV news this morning....reminding me of those 1960s French police comedy movies.
So the UN called up the German authorities....in a serious tone, they said....we need to investigate your German police.
The matter? Well....there's been demonstrations where the 'lateral-thinkers' (the anti-Covid ban rule crowd) have shown up and done unauthorized demonstrations. The police? Well...they got rough in some cases (documented via video).
The UN says....human rights violations have probably occurred.
The Germans? They have sixty days to look at the request, and do something (actually, they could just smile and say nothing).
I'm guessing various city mayors are asking if the UN has any legit power over them, and then asking...just how rough were the police with the anti-Covid protest crowd.
Yeah, it is a bit comical.
Could the cops in question be in serious trouble? If their badge number was obvious (on their uniform) and they were extremely rough....there would be a hearing and possible disciplinary action.
The sad thing here....it took a UN group to force the issue...not German human rights groups, public TV or newspapers.
