Early this AM....this story came out and a fair number of news outlets are discussing this, and I'll reference this back to Focus.
So this German guy (Russian heritage) had taken a trip to Turkey about a week ago. No one knows if this was business or tourism. It is late in the season, to venture off for a beach vacation (apparently going to Istanbul).
Plane lands back in Hamburg on the 25th of October. Most everyone gets off the plane. Stewardess comes up.....the guy is still sitting there.....last person on the plane. He doesn't get up.....dead.
Ambulance crew comes out.
Hospital tests him....Covid-positive.
Questions arise.
To get into Turkey the week prior....he had to show a negative test. So he entered Turkey 'clean'. To leave Turkey and return to Germany, he had to show a negative test. No one is sure about this part of the story (no proof). Also, no one is sure if he entered the plane on his own, or if someone brought him on (via some ambulance crew, or terminal crew).....suggesting he might have been dead before he even got the seat.
If you were a passenger on this plane? They've been contacting folks and you need to self-quarantine for a couple of days.....then get tested.
The airline? Well, they say they complied with all regulations, and he was tested negative before getting on the plane. Odds of this? Well....you can't test negative, and twelve hours later be dead from Covid that you seem to have 'freshly caught'. So, I'm a bit skeptical on their story. Maybe this was one of those false-negative event tests?
The odds that he had Covid but died from something else (like a drug-courier episode)? Well....that wouldn't shock me. All they can say is that he tested positive on the body. An autopsy will tell more on this story.
