Are Wind-Turbines Annoying In Germany?

Well....it's a loaded question.  You ask ten Germans to converse on it....you get ten opinions that differ.

Presently, there are about 28,000 wind-turbines (at least on the land part).  There was a serious pace going on through 2016, and then some tax credit rules changed....things slacked off, and they are generally taking down wind-generators that reach max-lifespan.....putting up a replacement for them. Numbers-wise.....it's peaked.

Negatives?  I would say it leans toward four issues:

1.  Some people chat about the 'noise' (vibration).  Scientifically speaking....there isn't enough proof to make the case (one way or another).  Some say animals are bothered.....some say cows are bothered while in the original installation...then adjust.

2.  There are people who fit the placement based on landscape 'beauty' (don't spoil the hills).

3.  A fair number of villages (particularly in Bavaria) have stood up and said they shouldn't be placed with a kilometer or two of the village.

4.  Some environmentalists now say that placement harms bug and animals....citing official studies.

With the Greens in the government....there's an effort to push more placement.

If you asked Germans about their real feelings?  I suspect 75-percent would say they are really happy with wind-generators....but when you say that it's a placement of four about 1.5 km from their house.....probably a majority of folks would say 'no'....'lets not do that'.

Could scientists put down the vibration troubles by doing a four-star study?  Maybe....you don't see them that enthusiastic.....like they know something isn't right.

Is there enough wind to make them worthwhile?  No one argues that point....in fact...there are some periods in the year when a shocking amount of wind does occur.  I'll also admit in some summer periods.....you might have an entire day of marginal/near-zero wind.

You'd think with all the energy hype.....this would be a top twenty discussion topic.

Where I live in Lower Saxony, we have an ample supply of wind turbines. Several are not far from my house. They don't bother me at all, except the two located in view of the 10th tee at my golf course which are a bit of a distraction. Gotta blame my bad play on something.

This 'vibration chatter' is never scientifically proven. I can't speak to this....nearest one to me is 7 km away. You would think that a bunch of PhD German scientists would be all over this to prove/disprove the public beliefs.
