I got onto this topic a few days ago, and it kinda shocked me. Using IMDB data....280 Russian/Soviet movies have been made since WW II....all dealing with some element of the war against the Nazis.
Since 2000? Probably up around fifty of them.

I have this theory. During the two years of Covid....I think that Putin cut off access to most of the hundred people who might visit him on a weekly basis, and it came down to a dozen-odd insiders.
Filling the vacant time? I think he watched the WW II movies.....probably one a day, and got to some point where he felt the Nazi threat in the modern times.
