1. I noticed this odd piece via Focus....recruitment for conscripts in Russia....is heading off into new directions.
Apparently, they've reached the point where they start showing up in prisons, and offering some exit deal....you do x-number of days, and we pardon you from the prison deal. Do they get boot-camp? No one says much. I would imagine they'd hand you a uniform....take you to the front, then hand you a rifle.
The other thing they bring up....'cold-calls'....where you are sitting in the apartment and answering the phone. Guy starts off talking about selling you insurance, then brings the conversation around to serving in the Ukraine as a conscript.
Bad sign? If you asked me for a dozen bad signs about the Putin situation....this would be in the very top of the list.
One other odd piece....last night via Russian state TV, during their hyped-up hour of war chatter....the moderator spoke to the idea when they were finished in the Ukraine....Warsaw would be next. It's all BS....but it plays to the public perception. Focus covered this item.
2. I won't say much to this study done on long-Covid in Germany.....but the emphasis of their summary is that people who seem to have long-Covid....weren't exactly in great physical condition before Covid hit. Lot of experts downplay this study and say there weren't enough people to make it a big deal.
The idea that you had some decline in the past year with your health....then had Covid....leading to long-Covid....would beg a lot of questions.
3. German diary industry piece on N-TV this AM.....they brought up that 80-percent of dairy operations use natural gas in some way, and if there is a shortage.....it'll affect farmers a good bit.
4. There's chatter in the past day or two....Italy's government might 'fall'....meaning a new coalition or a new election.
5. There's a brief mention on N-24 this AM....that REAL natural gas shock for Germans....will not occur this year, and it will be a massive hit (maybe triple what the current pricing is) by spring of 2023.
6. There's chatter out of Berlin that crime families got into the Covid-testing business in 2020/2021....made up false tests....were paid a vast amount of money by the German government.
Shocking....I tell you (wink, wink, no....not that shocking).
7. Lot of monkeypox going on in Berlin. Apparently, the first use of the vaccine for it....will start up today in Berlin.
8. Road blockages are now a daily thing in Berlin with this youth group....'Last Generation'. I'll predict by spring of 2023....it'll be a regional political topic and pressure will mount to give the kids actual jail-time.
