Nord Stream I.....the pipe delivering natural gas from Russia to Germany (not to be confused with Nord Stream II (never approved for transport)....is down for maintenance for the past two weeks. What the Germans say....a marginal amount of natural gas is moving presently.
The chief component in for repairs? Well....it's a Canadian-made 'pump' and had been removed....to Canada. It's fixed....so the discussion came up early on....isn't this part of the sanctions? For a while, it's been suggested....it would not be 'returned'.
So today....the Canadians are saying....yeah, the part will be shipped back...ready to go.
The Ukrainians? They want the sanction stuff to hold, and the pump not put into place again.
The Germans? I'd say they are fairly desperate at this point.....it has to go into place, and continue pumping (to fill the reserves).
