I noticed via HR (Hessen's public station) that there's chatter about developing sniffer dogs for old-folks homes....against Covid.
Still experimental? Yeah.
This will start in the fall apparently, with the next phase of testing.
Testing so far? 5,000 samples....92-percent rate of identifying it.
The two dogs testing so far? Well....they were originally explosives-dogs. So it is curious how their 'career' developed.
You probably will find a particular breed that does well with this, and opens up a whole new testing system....at hospitals, old folks-homes, and schools.
The fact that 10-percent of people freak out when dogs are around them? No one mentioned that....but I just kinda wonder how you will get around this topic.
My curiosity? Well....it means you are putting out an oder.....probably a 'sweat' smell, and it begs questions.
Also, with my Maine Coon cat who is hyped-up on scents....it would the question if she'd detect it and meow something to me (besides the snack signal).
